What is Phobias Panic Attacks? Firstly, it is important to establish the difference between anxiety and fear.
These terms are used interchangeably but they are quite distinct.
Anxiety is a vague feeling of impending
doom precipitated by either an internal or external stimuli.
Fear, however, is terror felt from an
identifiable external stimulus which poses as a real threat to the particular person.
For example, the
feeling that someone "might" be following you without actually seeing somebody is anxiety.
On the other
hand, the feeling from being followed by a person carrying a gun is fear.
Anxiety is positive in that it serves as a motivator for the person to do better.
For example, the anxiety of
failing the final exam is beneficial as it prompts you to study hard and prepare to avoid failure.

for some individuals, anxiety may be severe and exaggerated to the level of lowering the quality
