Sister Marie Angele Professes Final Vows with Joy

“Desiring to dedicate myself forever to the service of God’s people, I
ask to profess perpetual vows in this Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of
the Americas.
”
With these words spoken on June 2 at College of Saint Mary’s Our
Lady of Mercy Chapel, Sister Marie Angele began the formal rite
of perpetual profession that was the culmination for her of years of
discernment, education, ministry, living in Mercy Community and
first vows.
She first felt God tugging at her heart while a student at Daniel J.
Gross Catholic High School in Omaha.
But it would take 21 years
and several more tugs before she answered God’s call and entered the
Sisters of Mercy in 2003.
During those years, she earned her bachelor of art degree in dramatic
arts from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1985 and a
master of fine arts in theatre at the University of Iowa
