Ces directives ordonnaient la fermeture de l hôpital Montfort, le seul hôpital francophone de l Ontario. Cette décision de la Cour d appel de l Ontario est très importante parce qu elle donne aux principes non écrits de la Constitution reconnus dans le Renvoi sur la sécession du Québec une force normative contraignante.
