ABSTRACT
In this present study three species of Ophioglossum, viz. O. fibrossum Schum., O. nudicaule L. and O.
vulgatum L. were assessed for VAM colonization from disturbed habitat in floristic belts adjoining to Thane
and Mumbai Metropolis of Maharashtra. The VAM spore density in the rhizosphere of O. vulgatum (291/100
g of soil), O. nudicaule (430/100 g of soil) and 550/100 g of soil in O. fibrossum was found. Glomus
macrocarpum was encountered more frequently for all the three species of Ophioglossum. Mass production of
native isolate G. macrocarpum inoculum was set by axenic culture technique and its efficacy on
Ophioglossum growth performance under nursery condition was che
