The Calhoun
County Sheriff’s
Department is
sponsoring a
blood drive for
Tuesday, June 26
from 1 to 6 pm at
the First Baptist
Church’s Family
Life Center at 205
Dunn Street.
Hampton High School was
one of 18 schools in Arkansas
to be placed on probation for
first -year violations by the state
Board of Education last week.
According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the 18
schools are in jeopardy of state
sanctions if new or repeat violations occur this coming year.
When the Sun contacted
the school, we found they were
already addressing the issues.
Principal Glenn Johnston
submitted a public notice to the
newspaper (printed on Page 8)
explaining the procedure.
Johnston said that every
five years, schools receive a visit
by a team from the State Department of Education.
