Zykelius Johnson was named the Offensive Player of the
Year award for the 3rd & 4th Grade team and the Most Valuable Player of the Year.
Mayor Rick Shirron told the city
council members Monday night
that County Judge Floyd Nutt and
the Quorum Court members will
vote next week to ask the county
citizens for a 1 cent sales tax that
will also benefit the city.
Council members agreed to
support the measure that would
generate about $100,000. for the
city.
In other business, council
members rehired attorney David
Scott and kept the salaries at
their current rates, including
the cut form $135 to $100 for
themselves, but agreed to give
a $250 bonus to the full-time
employees and $125 to parttime and $25 to the Volunteer
Firemen. Paul Vines voted NO
on the bonuses with JaMal Flint
