As a leading West Virginia casino, Mardi Gras Casino &
Resort hosted Chips for Charity Poker Tournament on
Tuesday, January 18, 2011.
Chips for Charity brought ten
local celebrities to play Texas Hold Em Poker for a chance to
win $5,000 for the charity of their choice.
Each of the nine
runners-up received $500 for their charity.
All the
participants chose charities that focus on helping people on
a local level.
Some West Virginia Celebrities Stopped by the Casino for
the Event
Each of the ten players chose local charities.
Kenny Bass and
Rick Lord, of WCHS TV, chose Children s Theatre of
Charleston and Manna Meal, respectively, as their charities.
Major Harris, WVU football legend, played for the Make-AWish Foundation.
Carl Agsten, owner of Agsten Construction,
had fun playing West Virginia poker for the
Kanawha/Charleston Humane Society.
