Carrying Forth the Spirit of The Arc
Although
the spotlight may
not be her favorite
thing, Shereen MacDonald is starting to
get used to it.
Shereen
has been a supportive living coordinator at The Arc of
Atlantic County for
10 years.
For the
past six years, she
has also served as
advisor to The
Arc’s Self Advocacy Club, helping
people with intellectual and developmental disabilities stand up for themselves, find
their voices and realize their potential.
Her passion
for her work – especially with the Self Advocates –
did not go unnoticed by The Arc’s executive staff.
That’s why when AtlantiCare’s Spirit of Women
nominations were being solicited, The Arc’s chief
officers jumped at the chance to celebrate Shereen’s hard work and nominate her for the Community Hero in Action award.
