Nick’s Natterings
At the recent AGM attended by 36
members (out of a total of 620), the
Social Secretary + Minutes Secretary
posts were filled.
We are still looking
for a new Treasurer.
This was
followed by an interesting talk on
“Snow Shoeing” given by one of our
members, Michael Hunt, who runs
Mountain House Holidays.
We were
enticed by this novel way of rambling
through deep snow and will probably
be keen to try it if the bad winter
predicted by our weather forecasters
comes true.
An incident on a recent Thursday
walk brought home the fact that we
don’t always know much about our
fellow ramblers if and when we need
to know about their medical condition
and/or how to contact their
next-of-kin.
In the next edition of
“Footprints” we aim to include details
of information to be recorded on
“Personal Information Tags” which we
hope each member will complete and
will carry whilst out walking.
