NET/JOURNALISM/ APR 2010 PAGE 1 The Dragon Times JULIA ZHU STAFF WRITER So, the lucky few SCIS students who have AP exams are up to their knees in reviewing. How can you remember what you learned in the first semester? Magic? Pixie dust? Surgically inserting all the information into your brain? You wish. All you can do is stay home and drown in the plethora of papers your teachers are giving you. How in the world are you going to handle any of this? You might as well give up, not study and follow these clever tips. 1. For the multiple choice, make sure to create an artistic pattern with your answers. Especially if you don’t know the answers. We all know the people at ETS love making our lives easier, so as long as you figure out the secret pattern, you’re bound to get a five. 2. C is always the correct answer. 3. Bring food to your AP exam. Try to discern letters from your snacks. We all know the Koala Bears at the Student Store ar

NET/JOURNALISM/ MAR 2010 PAGE 1 The Emerald Eye SAM KANE STAFF WRITER It should be an obvious fact that the safety of students should be a school s top priority. For the most part, this seems to be something that SCIS is committed to, and for that, our school deserves to be applauded. However, there is one glaring shortcoming in the school s commitment to student safety, and it is one that must be rectified before SCIS is able to proclaim itself to be a truly safe environment. I am referring, of course, to the school s outdoor tile walkway, which runs around the school and is located in close proximity to the soccer field. This walkway is dangerous, plain and simple. Any sort of rainfall turns it into a slick, treacherous surface, where the slightest misstep can result in a one-way trip to the ground. Its proximity to soccer field makes it all the more hazardous. NET/JOURNALISM/ MAR 2010 PAGE 1 The Emerald Eye SAM KANE STAFF WRITER In a sign of escalating tensions between the Chinese government and search-engine giant Google, the Chinese government has warned Google s Chinese partners that they must comply with government censorship laws, even if Google chooses to cease censoring its own databases. The warning comes as yet another entry in a series of events stemming from Google s January revelation that it had been the victim of numerous cyberattacks from Chinese sources. The Chinese government has repeatedly denied any involvement with the attacks, but Google was not convinced, and announced plans to cease censoring search results on its Chinese site, in flagrant violation of Chinese government censorship laws. Two months of negotiations between the two parties have yielded no results, making it increasingly likely that Google will ultimately have to close down its Chinese site (google. cn). T
